Alfred "Fred" E. Dadson, Jr. PHELPS- Alfred "Fred" E. Dadson, Jr., 74, passed away peacefully on Tues. (Aug. 16, 2016), at home with his devoted wife by his side. In honoring his wishes, there will be no calling hours. A private graveside service will be at the convenience of the family in Glenwood Cemetery. Contributions may be directed to Lifetime Care, 800 W. Miller St. Newark, NY 14513. Fred was born on Feb. 14, 1942 in Geneva and was a son of the late Alfred E. and Ruth (Kelsey) Dadson. For over 55 years, he owned and operated Dadson Farm Market and Green Houses. Fred married the love of his life, Donna in 1979. Together, they worked the farm, farm market, green houses and cider mill. His work was his hobby. In Oct. 2014, he retired as a result of his illness. Fred was a member of the Junius Volunteer Fire Dept. and the NY Steam Engine Association, Inc. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Donna (Ralston) Dadson of Phelps; step-son, Charles (Gena) Bennett of Phelps; brother, Harold (Sharon) Dadson of Phelps; sister-in-law, Jean Sutton of Clifton Springs; step-grandchildren, Carly and Charles Bennett; cousin, Jim (Maris) Avery of Clifton Springs and several nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
