Richard J. Coluzzi
Richard Joseph Coluzzi died the morning of Tuesday, September 6. Rich taught music to many talented and creative students, and with colleagues who were innovative, gifted, and very supportive teachers.
Rich's passion for learning reached from the elementary particles to the endless stretches of the cosmos, from the marvels of nature to the detailed workings of Joyce's Ulysses, carpentry, computers, the human mind, and the music of J.S. Bach and the Beatles. Rich held a deep respect for all living things, and showed an uncommon interest in the voices, sounds, and music that surrounded him.
Rich leaves behind his loving wife Linda Joyce; children Christina Lynn (Jens) Meyer, Tory Richard (Melissa Hocutt), Seth Joseph (Michelle Landstrom), and the late Matthew James (Johanna Dunkel); siblings Nelson Edward, Patricia Calabrese, Paul (deceased), and Mary Jane Hunt; grandchildren Cora Belle, Chance Matthew, Erik Jan, and Annika Joyce; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Donations in Rich's name may be made either to Our Lady of Peace Parish (130 Exchange St., Geneva, NY 14456) or to the Sierra Club (www.sierraclub.org/giving/commemorative-gifts).
Funeral services will be held at 10am on Saturday, September 10, at St. Stephen's Church in Geneva.
