Floyd August Collins GENEVA- Floyd August Collins, 90, passed away peacefully at Huntington Nursing Home in Waterloo. In honoring his wishes, there will be no prior calling hours. A funeral service will be at 12 p.m. Tues. (Feb. 14), at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC 28 Genesee St. Geneva. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery, with full military honors. Contributions may be directed to the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Rd. Ste. 300, Jacksonville, Fl 32256; the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation, 3800 Fettler Park Dr. Ste. 104, Dumfries, VA 22025; or the Alzheimer's Association, 435 E. Henrietta Rd., Rochester, NY 14620. Floyd was born on Dec. 30, 1926, in Cincinnati, OH and was a son of the late Robins and Daisy (Mueller) Collins. He is a WWII veteran of the United States Marines Corps 6th Division and served in the Pacific Theater. Floyd worked as an engineer for the American Can in Geneva and retired after 38 years. He was a member of the American Legion and the NRA. He attended New Hope Bible Church in Phelps, where he helped build the present log church and held several responsibilities, including treasurer, trustee, and greeter. He was co-leader with his wife, Roma, of the Geneva Saddle and Bridle 4H Club for 20 years. Floyd was an avid bowler, outdoorsman, wood worker, camper, gentleman farmer, and horseback rider. He loved his family very much and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife, Roma (Pancheff) Collins of Geneva; children, Chuck (Lisa Scalise) Collins of Geneva, Barbara (Daren) DeHaven of Geneva, Cherie (Ken) Reid of Geneva and Dan (Eileen) Collins of Interlaken; brother, Thomas Collins of OH; sister-in-law, Vernice Collins of OH; grandchildren, Michael (Anna) Holliday, Jennifer (Curt) Stuempfle, Charles and Michelle Collins, Phyllis Collins and Tracey DeHaven, Kyle and Shane Collins; several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Floyd was predeceased by his daughter, Cindy Holliday; granddaughter, Kaili Collins; siblings, Betty Neeley, Ronald Collins and Norbert Collins.
