James F. Khouri GENEVA- James F. Khouri, 93, passed away peacefully on Thurs. (May 25, 2017), at the Geneva Living Center South, with his loving and devoted wife by his side. Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tues. (May 30), at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC, 28 Genesee St. Geneva. The Masonic Ark Lodge #33 will meet for a service at 7:15 p.m. in the funeral home. Trisagion Prayers will be at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home. A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wed. (May 31), at St. Michael's Antiochian Orthodox Church in Geneva, with the V. Rev. Fr. Gregory Murphy officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. Contributions may be directed to St. Michael's Antiochian Orthodox Church, 98 Genesee St. Geneva, NY 14456. Jim was born on April 26, 1924, in Massena, NY and was the son of the late Ferris and Helena Khouri. He attended Geneva schools and graduated from Moira High School class of 1942. Jim worked at Westplex Corporation in Manchester, NY, retiring in 1987 as supervisor of the finishing department. Jim was a devoted member of St. Michael's Antiochian Orthodox Church in Geneva, serving on the church council for many years. He was also a member of the Masonic Ark Lodge #33 in Geneva for 52 years. Jim played baseball for Geneva High School proving to be one of the best hitters on the team. As a young man he also played on several teams in the Massena area. He loved the sport of baseball and in later years coached P.A. L. ball for Manchester/Shortsville, JV Baseball for Red Jacket High School, Little League in Geneva, and spent time at Hobart College, where he was hitting coach. Jim could relate to young people and served as a mentor to many, encouraging them to work hard and follow their dreams. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife Diane, tending to his vegetable garden, a good plate of Syrian food, watching the Yankees play, and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his devoted wife, Diane (Joseph) Khouri of Geneva; sister, Louise Kennedy of Dallas, TX, nephews, C.V. (Mindy) Abdallah of Cazenovia and James (Patricia) Kennedy of Dallas, TX; nieces, Elana (David Holloway) Henner of Syracuse, Lauren (John) McGrann of Glenside, PA, and Patricia Cunningham of Dallas, TX; great-nieces and great- nephews, Lindsay (Carrick) Bligh, Benjamin (Lauren) McGrann, Khouri McGrann, Jack Kennedy, Bailey (Robert) Rich as well as many loving nieces and nephews from his wife's family, and special cousins Janet Khoury, Julia Khoury, Christina (Brian) Taylor, AJ (Rosemary Ventura) Khoury, and Samuel Taylor. Jim was predeceased by his sister and brother-in-law Eva (Vern) Abdallah and brother-in-law Monte Kennedy. A special thank you to Dr. Michael Collins for his kind compassionate care, Jim's Angels, Sherri, Hope, Michelle, Jodi, Deb, and Molly, who because of their loyalty and love, allowed Jim to remain at home until the last three months of his life, and finally, to the wonderful saints and angels at the Geneva Living Center South, 3rd floor, who took remarkable care of Jim through his final days.
