Virginia Jean Baroody GENEVA- Virginia Jean Baroody, 94, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 22, after a brief illness. A lifelong resident of Geneva, she was born to Abraham and Julia Baroody on September 17, 1923. She graduated from Rochester School for the Deaf in 1944, then was employed by Eastman Kodak and Sibley's department store. Jeanie had many friends in the Rochester area who were classmates at RSD and with whom she kept in touch throughout the years. From the 1960s through the 1980s she traveled throughout the U.S. and Europe with the RSD Alumni Association. She is survived by her sister Katherine Baroody Corcoran of Phoenix, AZ and eight nieces and nephews. Her niece Janet Crowley of Weehawken, NJ, cared for her lovingly in her later years. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Helen Baroody Crowley; her brother, Theodore Baroody; and her nephew, Gary Corcoran. A remembrance celebration will be held in Geneva next September.
