Louis Francis Picchi VARICK/ROMULUS- Louis Francis Picchi, 62, passed away peacefully on Fri. (Jan. 5, 2018), at home. Family and friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Fri. (Jan. 19), at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC, 28 Genesee St. Geneva, NY. A military service will be held at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Geneva, with the United States Marine Corps Honor Guard. Contributions may be directed to the Beverly Animal Shelter, 50 East River St. Waterloo, NY 13165. Louis was born on May 28, 1955 in Geneva and was a son of the late Francis and Mary Rose (Puma) Picchi. He proudly served his country in the United States Marines Corps. As a Marine, he was a Sergeant and expert gunsmith who repaired and maintained weapons. After his service, Louis received his Associate's Degree from FLCC. He worked as a machinist at the Seneca Army Depot for many years. Louis enjoyed playing chess and taught the Chess Club at Mynderse Academy. He was an animal lover who loved his dogs, walking trails, camping and spending time with his family. Louis kept the family going and organized all of the family reunions. He is survived by his siblings, Duane (Laurie) Picchi of Seneca Falls, Clifford (Karen) Picchi of Geneva and Esther (John) Leavitt of Geneva; nieces and nephews, Ariane (Wes) Richey of MS, Frank Picchi of Seneca Falls, Amanda (Eric) Burden of Waterloo, Christopher Picchi of Geneva and John Leavitt, Jr. of Lancaster, NY; great nephew, Kaleb Finch; great niece, Lilly Richey; several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; companion, Cindy Liberio.
