Maude E. (Dolly) Root GENEVA- Maude 'Dolly' E. Root, 90, passed away peacefully on Mon. (Jan. 22, 2018), at Geneva General Hospital. Burial services will be held in the spring. Contributions may be directed to the Geneva Free Library, 244 Main St. Geneva, NY 14456. Dolly was born on Sept. 5, 1927, in Geneva and was a daughter of the late Sherman and Millicent (McKee) Ogden. She worked as a deposit operationist at the National Bank of Geneva. Dolly was a former member of the Waterloo Sportsman's Auxiliary. She loved spending summers on Keuka Lake, taking winter trips to Florida and attending Mynderse Academy basketball games to cheer on #11, Nicolas Jones. She is survived by her sister, Alice Pierson; sister-in-law, Shirley (Charles) Hubble; step-children, Roger Root, Ronald (Bea) Root and Sandy (Ronald) Lewis; step-daughter-in-law, Joan Root; step-grandchildren, Kimberly (Jim) Oaks, Ronald Root, Jr., Brenda (Donald) Tuttle, Nicole (Thomas) Hayward, Kara Lewis; 7 step- great grandchildren; 9 step great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Patty Jones and Annie Rapini. In addition to her parents, Dolly was predeceased by her husband, Richard Root; sisters, Rita Hardy and Charlene Riles; brother, James Ogden; step-son, Ralph Root.
