Evasio "Fuzzy" L. Marino GENEVA- Evasio "Fuzzy" L. Marino, 87, a devoted husband and loving father passed away peacefully on Sun. (Feb. 11, 2018), at home, surrounded by his loving family. In honoring his wishes, there will be no prior calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Fri. (Feb 16), in St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church in Geneva. Entombment will follow in St. Mary's Mausoleum. Contributions may be directed to the Sons of Italy Scholarship Fund, 31 Prospect Ave. Geneva, NY 14456. Fuzzy was born on Nov. 4, 1930, in Geneva and was the son of the late Pasquale and Maria (Galasso) Marino. He graduated from the Universal School of Plumbing in Kansas City, MO. After school, Fuzzy was a member of the Plumbing Union Local 13 in Rochester and then spent 25 years working for Finger Lakes Plumbing and Heating in Geneva. Most recently he was the City of Geneva Bulding Inspection and Code Enforcement Officer. He was a devoted member of Our Lady of Peace Parish, a charter member of the Sons of Italy Lodge 2397 and a former member of the New York National Guard. In 2007, Fuzzy was the recipient of the "Man of the Year" Award from the Sons of Italy - Geneva Lodge, and recently received the 65 year membership award from the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry. He served as past president of the "Ortuccio Club". Fuzzy enjoyed playing bocce and bowling. Above all, he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 66 years, Olga (Liberatore) Marino of Geneva; children, Patricia Marino of Geneva, Ava Spader of Geneva, Tom (Nancy) Marino of Seneca Falls, Laine (Dan) Pufnock of Geneva and Mike (Carol) Marino of Frisco, TX; sisters, Helen Fountain of Geneva and Flora Goldstone of Vestal, NY; grandchildren, Rebecca Scherer, David Scherer, Jason (Charlene Reid) Spader, Dana Spader (Austin) McNally, John (Leia) Marino, Katye (Charlie Barbay) Marino, Dr. JoAnna Pufnock, Dan Pufnock, Bryan Marino and Matthew Marino; great-grandchild, Jacob Ian Spader. Fuzzy was predeceased by his brothers, Mario Marino, Harold Marino and Stanley Marino.
