Canandaigua – Stephen D. Garlick, 61, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 23, 2025, at his home with his family by his side.

He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Janet Garlick; children, Morgan (Ryan) Amberg of Stanley, Matthew (Christine) Garlick of Baldwinsville; grandchildren, Madison Amberg, Margot Garlick and Michael Garlick; sister, Cynthia (John) Lorenzetti; brothers, James Garlick Jr, Michael (Kathy McCormack) Garlick and Thomas Garlick; mother-in-law, Barbara Pettingill, brothers-in-law, John (Sheila) Buck and Scott (Gil Hannan) Pettingill; God-daughter, Taylor (Sam) Rollo and several nieces and nephews.

Steve was born on September 27, 1963 in Geneva, NY, and was the son of the late James and Helen (Cosentino) Garlick. He was a 1981 graduate of Romulus Central School. Steve spent 35 years working for NYS Parks and Recreation in the Finger Lakes Region. He began his career at Sampson State Park as a Park Worker, then Park Manager at Seneca Lake State Park. He was Park Manager at Keuka Lake State Park at the time of his retirement. Steve enjoyed working with his son Matthew in their business 'Garlick's Garlic', where they grew garlic and spent the summers selling it at the Geneva Farmers Market. It was his labor of love. He also spent time travelling with his family and friends, especially wintertime in Florida, he had many great memories. Most of all, he loved spending time holding and playing with his grandchildren, with them, he was his happiest.
