Obituary of Welton Eldridge III

Please share a memory of Welton to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
With profound sadness and love, we mourn the passing of Welton Eldridge III, a devoted father and cherished son, who passed away suddenly into the arms of his Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 29, 2025, surrounded by those who meant the most to him. Welton was born on October 16, 1964, the beloved son of Dorothy "Dottie" Eldridge Williams and the late Welton "Spyder-Man" Eldridge Jr. He was educated in the Geneva City School District and proudly graduated with the Geneva High School Class of 1982. As a youth, Welton enjoyed playing lacrosse; however, he was best known for his outstanding athletic abilities in baseball, football, and basketball. His natural talent, competitive spirit, and sportsmanship made him a standout on and off the field. In later years, he remained passionate about sports—he was an avid golfer, a skilled dart player, and a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan, proudly representing his team through every season. Welton was a dedicated father whose love knew no bounds. His children were his pride and joy, and he poured his heart into raising them with strength, compassion, unwavering devotion, and love. As a son, he was a source of light and comfort to his parents—always offering a listening ear, a helping hand, and a heart full of gratitude and respect. As a brother, he was loyal, protective, and always ready with laughter, encouragement, or a shoulder to lean on. As a friend, he was dependable, sincere, and known for his ability to show up when it mattered most—offering wisdom, humor, or simply his presence when someone needed it most. Professionally, Welton began his career at Time Warner Cable, where he worked for several years. He later found his true calling in the construction field, joining Sealand Contractors Corp., where he worked in heavy highway and bridge construction. As a proud union laborer and respected crew leader, he dedicated over 25 years to the company, earning the admiration of colleagues for his leadership, work ethic, and unwavering commitment to every job. Welton's life was a testament to kindness, integrity, and resilience. He had a warm smile that could brighten any room and a generous spirit that touched all who knew him. Whether through quiet encouragement or bold acts of love, he made those around him feel seen, heard, and cherished. He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and treasured memories. He is survived by his loving mother, Dorothy "Dottie" (David) Eldridge Williams; his children, Alexis and Aiden Eldridge; brothers, Daniel (Cathy), Albert (Debbie), P. James (Staci), Leonard (Kathy), and Ricky Linzy; sisters, Princess T. Eldridge and Kathleen (Alfred) Jones; and a host of nieces and nephews: Ronald, Angela, Andrea, Amanda, Ameisha, Daniel Jr., Caila, Olivia, Quinton, Latasha Monique, Sabrina, Jamee, Quincy, Leonard II, TJ, Shatoya, Shannon, Ryan, Katia, Tre'von, Liana, Demetrious, Desirea, Dena, and D'Andre. He is also remembered fondly by many great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles, and extended family and friends. Among those who held a special place in his heart were his lifetime friend, Andy Morales, and his goddaughter, Alexis Chamberlain. Welton is predeceased by his father, Welton Eldridge Jr.; his beloved son, Welton S. Eldridge IV; his nephew Keyshawn, and his great-niece Zyah.Bottom of Form
