Elizabeth Ann Ward Obituary

Elizabeth McLaughlin Ward

GENEVA – Elizabeth "Beth" Ward, 67, passed away peacefully on Monday morning August 25, 2025 at Highland Hospital, Rochester, with her family at her side. Friends may call from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 2 at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC, 28 Genesee Street, Geneva. A prayer service will follow at 2:30 p.m. with burial at St. Mary's Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Knights of Columbus on Milton Street.

Beth was a friend to everyone, loved animals (especially her cat, Lucy), and gardening! She was born in Geneva, NY on February 27, 1958, and attended Prospect Avenue School, St. Francis de Sales, and graduated from Geneva High School in June, 1976. Later she achieved her Associates degree in Computer Science at CCFL. She was an awesome baton twirler in the Geneva High Marching Band, performing at half-time shows and marching in the Firemans Parade.

She worked in the Pediatrics Department at Finger Lakes Health for 22 years, retiring just a few years ago and missed the people she worked with. The children were delighted by the pencils and stickers she would give them as they finished their appointments. Beth kept busy with her sisters, her children and the grandchildren. Her daughter said Beth was an excellent cook, and Christmas was a special time for food and decorating. Family meals were very important in her home.

NASCAR was a favorite. Beth got to drive on the Pocono Raceway in the first car she gave her son! When Beth wasn't watching The Walking Dead, her favorite tv show, she enjoyed spending time at the Knights of Columbus and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights. She is dearly missed by many family and friends.

Beth is survived by her children Crystal L. (Matt) Laflamme, Kevin (Carmen) Thompson and Brad Thompson; sisters Deb (Tim Sanders) McLaughlin, Janet Anderson and Karen (Rob) Sollenne; grandchildren Karynn Laflamme, Matthew Laflamme Gabrielle Laflamme, Cody Hippert, Amya Thompson, Alivia Thompson, Grayson Thompson, Jackson Thompson and Dominick Thompson; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Beth is predeceased by her grandson Axel Thompson and sister Patricia Saltenberger.

Contributions may be made in her name to the Knights of Columbus and the Geneva Family YMCA.
