Bernard Ronald Bain was born on August 15, 1936, to the late Alford Bain and Charlotte Ramsey. He was called home on September 28, 2025. Bernard was born in Old Bigh Cat Island, Bahamas, and completed school through sixth grade.

He travelled between Florida and New York for seasonal fruit picking. During this period, he met and married Vivian Ruth Boone on November 23, 1963. Bernard (Cool Breeze, as he was affectionately called by his wife and friends) and Vivian continued working in both states during the harvesting seasons. Their three eldest children—Charlotte, Ronald, and Deidre—were born in Florida, while their two youngest, Samuel (Dexter) and Martha, were born in New York. The family later settled into the family home he purchased in Sodus Point.

Bernard worked hard to support his family, picking fruit during the day and working nights at Duffy Mott's. He was fondly known as "Brown" by the night crew he worked with until his retirement.

Bernard loved working and planting in his garden, fishing, and a good round of dominoes. He was happiest when his grand and great-grandchildren were around.

Bernard was predeceased by his wife Vivian, brothers Clarence and Edgar, sister Maydell Menedz, and son Alford. Left to celebrate his life are his Children.
