Lou was born on 8/01/1927 in the small town of Clearfield, Pa. He was the youngest of 15 children, 8 boys and 7 girls. He often bragged about being the tie-breaker! He enlisted in the U.S. Navy right out of high school and served in WW II as a Corpsman aid. After serving his country he graduated from Colorado State University on the G.I. bill where he wrestled at the collegiate level, making it to the AAU championships in Hawaii.

Lou met his wife Mary, on a train in Buffalo where they were the only two passengers. Fate intervened. They dated, married, settled in Geneva and raised three boys.

Lou loved to read and learn. There wasn't a topic that he didn't know something about. He was passionate about his Catholic faith, praying the rosary daily and often schooled his family on its history. Louis was a proud Navy Veteran and enjoyed 35 plus years of retirement from the Seneca Army Depot. In his last few years he enjoyed watching the wildlife and the changing sky from his home on Seneca Lake.

He was predeceased by his wife of 57 years Mary, in 2012, 7 brothers and 7 sisters. He is survived by his sons, Louis Jr, Peter (Kathy), John (Traci), many nieces, nephews and a special niece Joann Linehan.
