Krista Marie Swartwood

GENEVA- Krista "Lou" Swartwood, 42 yrs., passed away peacefully on Monday (November 24, 2025) at her home. Family and friends may call from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm on Monday (December 1) at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC, 28 Genesee Street, Geneva. Her Mass of Christian Burial will follow the calling hours at 2:00 pm at St. Francis De Sales Church, 130 Exchange Street, Geneva.

Krista was born on April 11,1983, in Geneva, NY and was a daughter of James and Donna (DeYulio) Swartwood. She graduated from Geneva High School in 2001. Krista went on to the Continental School of Beauty, Rochester, and Boca Beauty Academy, Boca, FL. Krista held a dual license and worked at beauty salons in Geneva and in Florida. She was an incredible athlete who played soccer, basketball, and softball. One of her greatest accomplishments in sports was being part of the 1999 New York State High School Softball Championship team.

During her time in Florida, Krista developed a love for the beach and the water. She found peace and happiness there. Krista loved animals and took in several rescues of her own. She had a passion for cooking and loved trying new recipes and restaurants.

Once you had met Krista it was hard not to love her. Her smile and her laugh would light up the room.

She is survived by her parents James and Donna Swartwood; sister Kelly (Swartwood) Densley; aunts and uncles Nicholas and Elaine DeYulio; Diane and David Calvasina, Deborah DeYulio, Susan DeYulio, Deborah and Frank Winters, Cheryl Richardson and many cousins.

She also leaves behind her feline companion Aldo and her feral friends Podge, Munch, and Peanut.

Krista is predeceased by her paternal grandparents James Swartwood and Barbara (Coates) Hopkins, maternal grandparents James and Mary (Tandle) DeYulio, and aunt and uncles, Ronald DeYulio, Thomas DeYulio, and Ronald and Carol Swartwood.
