Jeanette M. Easterbrooks Obituary

Mommasan Obituary

Jeanette (Babcock) Easterbrooks, 57, passed away peacefully Saturday January 3, 2026, surrounded by love from family and friends, with her daughters Megan and Kelsie by her side.

Following sudden cardiac arrest, and life-saving interventions the morning of December 26, the entire family would like to thank Joe Trombley for giving us the impossible - more time.

Born April 09, 1968 in Hornell, NY, Jeanette was the daughter of Charlotte Weaver Babcock and the late James Babcock Sr. and graduated from Hornell High School in 1986. She went to Keuka College (in her words)"as an old lady" to study Nursing, graduating Cum Laude with a BSN in 2005.

Jeanette served the public her entire life, beginning at age 12 with a newspaper route she worked with her brother Joe. She cleaned houses for the elderly and worked as a cook/supervisor at MercyCare in North Hornell before moving to Penn Yan. She helped manage Strong Hall & Keuka Park Apartments under the Farash Corporation for 15 years and began working for Dr. Strouse (her own PCP) at Main Street Family Health in 2005. Likely her most recognizable role and the most rewarding to her, Jeanette recently followed Doc's practice to Seneca Falls alongside Dr. Lorenzetti - continuing to serve clients she cared so deeply for.

From her fist "real" job at McDonald's, she never strayed from customer service for long, going on to work at several restaurants (the Antique Inn, Friendly's, and the Valley Inn, to name a few). Most recently, you could find her bartending at the Penn Yan Moose Club, always offering service with a smile, her infectious laugh, and a side of sass.

Jeanette was an avid sports fan, proudly displaying her NY Yankee Christmas tree each year, and watching every NFL game she could. The Dallas Cowboys were her favorite, but she always encouraged and followed the Buffalo Bills (brother Joe, and daughter Kelsie's favorite team).

She had a love like no one else for filling stockings, always smiling the brightest at Christmas time;

We consider it no small miracle that her last days were spent celebrating with family, surrounded by stockings, Frosty the Snowman, and so much love, shining brighter than ever before.

Forever putting others' needs ahead of her own, Jeanette's legacy lives on, even after death;

As an organ donor, she went on to help 10 recipients, so in that way, she really did die how she lived - helping and saving lives.

Jeanette was predeceased by her father, James H. "Babby" Babcock (2000) and brother, Joseph Babcock (2015)

Jeanette is survived by:

daughters, Megan (Cody) Reid and Kelsie (Michael Salotto) Easterbrooks, her mother Charlotte Babcock, brother Jimmy (Kate) Babcock Jr., sisters Jennifer "Poopsie" Babcock and Ellen Rodbourn, nephew Dylan Babcock, and nieces Julie Rodbourn and Vanessa Gowan, father of her children and best friend, George Easterbrooks and her "handsome boyfriend" Joe Trombley.

Described as "the joy of her life", Jeanette is also survived by granddaughters, Elizabeth "Libby" Smith and Josephine "Josie" Reid, by special cousin, Liz Williams, special Aunt & Uncle, Ann and Don Weaver, as well as several cousins, aunts and uncles.

Services are open to the public at Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC, 28 Genesee Street in Geneva, NY, 14456. Friends may call from 3-6pm on Friday January 16th, 2026 with a special service to follow.
