Virginia Marie Ficcaglia

Virginia Ficcaglia, 92, of Geneva passed away peacefully on Friday January 23, 2026 at Geneva General Hospital surrounded by her loving family.In honoring with Virginia's wishes there will be no calling hours. A Christian Burial Mass will be held on Wednesday (January 28) at 10 a.m. at Saint Francis DeSales Church in Geneva, N.Y. followed by a burial service in Glenwood Cemetery.

Virginia was born in Geneva on May 26, 1933. She is the daughter of the late Francis and Maryann Church. She was a life resident of Geneva. Virginia graduated from Geneva High School in 1951 and Freeman Business School in 1952. She was co-owner of F. A. Church Hardware store along side her husband Vincent Ficcaglia, Sr. where she was responsible for all the bookkeeping until she was 85 years old. Virginia took pride in her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren. In her earlier years, she loved to knit, crochet and in doing all sorts of craft projects. She also liked to write poems for special occasions or for special people in her life. She enjoyed baking and cooking for her family. She also enjoyed playing Solitaire and solving crossword puzzles. She took joy in keeping her house decorated inside and out with the changing seasons or holidays.

Virginia is survived by her daughter Valerie (Ronald) Wilkie, and sons Vincent Ficcaglia Jr. and Vernon (Michelle) Ficcaglia; her grandchildren Rebecca(Jacob Miller) Wilkie and Tyler(Ayrielle Zeno) Wilkie, Rachel(Nicholas) Raplee and Giana Ficcaglia, her great granddaughters Harper Miller and Adelyn Wilkie. She is also survived by her sister Patricia(Ronald) Telarico and brother-in-law Thomas Venterea and several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she is predeceased by her husband of 64 years Vince and her sister Shirley Venterea.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Our Lady if Peace Parish, the Crohns and Colitus Foundation, the American Heart Association, or of one's choice.

The family would like to extend many thanks to all the doctors and nurses for the tremendous care she received while at Geneva General Hospital in her final days.
