Robert Guererri Obituary

GENEVA-Robert "Rebert" Guererri, 88, passed away peacefully on Friday (Feb. 20, 2026), his one regret being that his didn't live to see his beloved Bills win the Superbowl. To honor his wishes, there will be no calling hours of service. A celebration of life is being planned for later this spring.

He is survived by his sons Daniel and Ron Guererri, siblings Joyce (Bob) Guerrie Smith and Donald "Ducky" (Julie Simon) Guerrieri, and many nieces and nephews. Bob is predeceased by his wife Diane (Murphy) Guererri and by his brother Alfred Guerriri.

Bob was born May 21, 1937 in Geneva, NY and was a son to the late Alfred and Lucy (DeYulio) Guererri. He proudly served for the United States Navy. As a Journeyman Machinist, Bob worked for American Can for 19 years, Seneca Army Depot for 18 years, and retired from Toby Hanna in Scranton, PA. Bob frequently lent his technical skills to help friends and family, such as making specialized parts to build a hillside trolly to access his brother Al's lake house.

Bob was an avid sports fan, both coaching and following his two sons' athletic events, all the way back from Little League to their more recent age-group triathlons and dart tournaments.

In his retirement, Bob enjoyed his social time with long-time friends, golfing, playing cards at the Knights of Columbus, and watching football, particularly the Buffalo Bills.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to Light Hill Home, Canandaigua, NY. https://lighthillhome.org/
