Carmen "Bomber" Samuel Guerrie, II


 


GENEVA- Carmen "Bomber" Samuel Guerrie II, passed away at Geneva General Hospital surrounded by family on February 26, 2026, a few weeks prior to what would have been his 79th birthday. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St Francis DeSales Church in Geneva, on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 12pm. Entombment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery Mausoleum with Full Military Honors.


Carmen was born on March 24, 1947 in Geneva, NY, to Carmen and Alma (Palmer) Guerrie. He was a devoted son, brother, nephew, cousin, uncle, father, "Papa", and husband. He touched the lives of so many with his sense of humor, warmth, perseverance, and humble nature. He graduated from Geneva High school class of 1965 and then enlisted in the United States Air Force and served as an Airman Aircraft Electrician until he was honorably discharged. Afterwards, he married his high school sweetheart, Beverly Greco, he and his devoted wife shared 56 years together. Carmen attended Rochester Institute of Technology. He worked for GTE Sylvania in Seneca Falls, NY, Sanyo in Forest City, AR, and Thomas Electroncis in Wayne, NJ and Clyde, NY where he worked as a Mechanical and Production Engineer, on radars for NASA and other government projects. He was an incredibly hard-working family man and a member of the American Legion, VFW and Our Lady of Peace Parish. He enjoyed all sports, especially golf and baseball. He played for the Geneva Slo-Pitch Softball League. He coached Geneva Little League Baseball for several years, where he coached many players including both of his sons. He was a mentor for high school students to help them achieve their GED's.


He is survived by his wife, Beverly; his children Dena (Jeff) Steiner of Clay, NY; Brett Guerrie of Webster, NY and Brandon Guerrie of Port St Lucie, Florida; his grandchildren Conner and Cara Steiner, and Eva Guerrie; his siblings Donna (Robert) Decker, Michael (Linda) Guerrie, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.


He is predeceased by his parents; Carmen and Alma Guerrie.


In Lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in his honor to Diabetes Foundation or Kidney Foundation to further his devotion to community and those in need. The family would like to give their heartfelt thanks to all the nurses and staff at the Geneva Dialysis Unit for their expertise and compassionate care.


 


His perseverance to live fully allowed Carmen to bravely and resolutely fight many health battles he endured in his life. He will be greatly missed.
