GENEVA-Michael J. Calabrese, 78, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, June 22, 2026. Friends may call from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm Wednesday (July 1) with prayer service at 12:00 pm at Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home followed by interment at St. Mary's Cemetery. Michael was born on September 30, 1947 in Geneva, NY, and was the son of Lenora (Calabrese) Stuchkus and the oldest of four children. Michael was an avid sportsman who loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, trap and skeet shooting, and spending time with friends and family. He was a proud member of the NRA and belonged to North Seneca Sports Club and many other local sporting organizations, and has won several fishing derbies and shooting competitions. He spent his career working for Conrail/CSX as a railroad signal maintainer. Michael is lovingly remembered by his daughter Shelly Calabrese-Smith (Scott), and his sisters Cindy Barnoski (Bernie), Lori Berry (Richard Cardinale), and Cheryl Bohling (Mike), and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to Seneca Lake Pure Waters Association to support the lake he loved.
