Eugenia Irene Fredenburg Marshall GENEVA/ADAMS- Eugenia Irene Fredenburg Marshall, 81, better known by loved ones and most friends as "Jean", of 466 West North Street; Geneva, NY, passed into the loving arms of our Lord Jan. 8 peacefully with her family by her side after an extended illness. A very devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and teacher, the heavens have gained an angel. At the request of Eugenia, there will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home; 28 Genesee St.; Geneva, NY on Jan 13 at 1:00pm. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Presbyterian Church of Geneva. Born on July 22, 1936 and was the daughter to Eugene and Gladys Fredenburg in Antwerp, NY. Eugenia graduated from Adams High School, in Jefferson County, class of 1953. Attended all her college years and is an alumnus from Keuka College in Penn Yan, New York and was member of the Delta Kappa Gamma sorority. Married Robert G. Marshall of Geneva, raised four sons, then continued her education receiving her Master's Degree in English Education. Eugenia taught English at Waterloo High School for 23 years and her final 2 years at Waterloo Middle School before retiring in 1991. She enjoyed all the students that she worked with and they loved her. She substituted as an Aide at the Happiness House reading stories to children and Substituted as an aide to North St. school and West Street School in Geneva. She was very active with the Presbyterian Church in Geneva while being a deacon and member of the bell choir. She was a very avid fan of Syracuse University sports. She was an active member with the Red Hat Society and a member of TOPS. Eugenia truly loved spending time with her husband and watching her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up. She enjoyed trips to her hometown of Adams a couple times a year. Also enjoyed reading books, collecting baskets, bells and birdhouses. Eugenia is survived by her husband of 61 years, Robert G.; sons Steven (Cheryl Ferrini Bowman) of Geneva, Brian (Jane) of Gansevoort, NY.; Jeffrey (Lisa), and James of Geneva; 13 Grandchildren: Andrew, Teresa, Amy, Dan, Sara, Robert, Christopher, Ashley, Fairyn, Rheal, Shanna, Tyler and Scott. Three great-grandchildren: Aden, Mia and Aubree. Brother; John (Marion) Fredenburg of Falls Church, VA. As well as many nieces and nephews across the United States and abroad that she loved dearly. Predeceased by her parents, Sister and brother-in-law, Marjorie and Harris Washburn of Walton, NY and brother and sister-in-law Robert and Marjorie Fredenburg of Chico, CA.
