GENEVA- Margaret (Marge) DeMatties, 93, passed away on Sun. (Dec. 9, 2018), at home with her loving family by her side. Calling hours will be from 12 to 2 p.m. Fri. (Dec. 14), at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home, 28 Genesee St. Geneva. A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the Ontario County ARC, 3071 County Complex Dr., Canandaigua, NY 14424, or the American Cancer Society, 1120 S. Goodman St, Rochester, NY 14620. Marge was born on Sept. 19, 1925 in Penn Yan to Danish immigrants, Martin and Tekla Christensen. She grew up on the family farm. Marge married Rudolph DeMatties in 1948 and lived in Geneva for the rest of her life. She was a cafeteria worker for many years in the Geneva City School District. Marge loved her family, playing cards and Bingo. She is survived by her children, Thomas DeMatties, Judith DeMatties and Michael (Mary) DeMatties, all of Geneva; daughter-in-law, Lori DeMatties of Geneva; grandchildren, Aaron, Darrick, Bryon and Marc Russ, Daniel DeMatties and Molly (Dakota) Moran; several great-grandchildren, 1 great, great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Marge was predeceased by her husband, Rudolph DeMatties; son, Daniel DeMatties; sister, Martine Nielson and brother, John Christensen.
