WATERLOO NY- Margaret Ellen "Bobbie" McCarthy, 88, passed away peacefully on Tues. (Nov. 16, 2021), at home.

Bobbie was born on July 7, 1933, in Mt. Morris, NY and was a daughter of the late Alex and Raffie (Manzie) Chichester. She married Alfred McCarthy of Watertown NY in 1955. She was a graduate of the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, Watertown NY and the University of Maine at Augusta. Over a 40-year nursing career Bobbie worked as a clinical nurse, educator and administrator. She was loved and respected by her colleagues. Since relocating to Waterloo in 2019, Bobbie was a devoted member of Our Lady of Peace Parish.

She is survived by her sons John Kevin (Michele) McCarthy of Tucker,GA and James Matthew (Sharron) McCarthy of Doraville,GA; daughter Suzanne (Mark) Wolinsky of West Springfield, VA; sister Esther Chichester of Waterloo; grandchildren Crystal, Amanda, Ethan, Colleen and Laura; great grandchildren Christopher and Madeleine.

Bobbie is predeceased by her husband Alfred; son Patrick and brothers Alex and David Chichester.

The family is grateful to Joann Griswold and Larry Bennett for their loving, attentive care and friendship.

Friends may call from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Mon. (Nov. 22), at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC, 28 Genesee St. Geneva. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12 p.m. at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church. Burial will be held in the spring at St. Augustine Cemetery in Augusta, Maine.
