Please share a memory of Charles to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
PHELPS- Charles 'Tuna' Guererri, passed away peacefully on Mon. (Sept. 18, 2023), at the age of 65, after a long battle with Cardiac Disease. Calling hours will be from 12 to 4 p.m. Mon. (Sept. 25), at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC, 28 Genesee St. Geneva. A funeral service will follow at 4 p.m., in the funeral home. Family and friends are invited to attend a reception at the Serven Fire House immediately following services, to share unforgettable memories and entertaining stories. Charlie was born and raised in Geneva on West Ave. and always had a childhood story about some sort of shenanigans he, his brother, and his cousins got into. It was Charlie's unfiltered sense of humor and long eyelashes that drew people to him. Despite his health challenges, Charlie still golfed two – three times a week at Big Oak (one of his favorite places to be). He often joked about living long enough to hit from the GOLD Tees and was proud of his two holes-in-one there. Up until the last five years, Charlie was an avid bowler at Sunset Bowl and has several 300 games, 700 Series and an 800 Series. He was proud to tell people of the three generations of bowlers with a 300 game/700 Series: his father, himself and his son, Joe. In his younger years, Charlie raced Street Stock at Paradise and Canandaigua. His love for dirt racing never faded and you could find him every Friday and Saturday night on his couch watching it with no dust. His greatest accomplishment was being a dad. His great-grandfather lived long enough to make five generations of Guererri men. He loved going to their baseball and football games, being a proud cheerleader and biggest supporter. Charlie loved his family with all his heart and will be sadly missed by his wife of 44 years, Laurie; sons, Joseph, and James (Christina); brother, Bryan (Sandy); sister, Gina (Mark) Adams; friend, Mike 'Wacky' Deal; his Big Oak family and too many relatives to name. He was predeceased by his parents, Suzanne (Griffee) and Angelo Guererri.
