GENEVA- Sara J. "Janet" (Dolley) Wright passed away on Monday, October 24 at Geneva General Hospital after an extended illness. Janet was born on August 26, 1935 in Geneva NY to the late Charles O. and Mabel H. (Demarest) Dolley, and was a lifelong Geneva resident. In her youth, she was instilled with a service before self mindset, and was active in several community-based resource drives for the war effort. She was especially proud to work in Geneva's Victory Gardens. Janet graduated from Geneva High School in 1953, and began a career with New York telephone, working as a switchboard operator in Geneva. In 1964, she met the love of her life, Jack Wright, and they would marry after a brief courtship in 1965. Adopting motherhood as her first calling, she would work part time in several capacities for the next 20 years as her time allowed. She built a strong following hosting in home parties for Stanley Home Products, and was consistently ranked as a top seller in this area. She was a US Census worker in 1980, 1990, and 2000, and regularly volunteered to work the polls on Election Day. A meticulous bookkeeper, Janet eventually joined her husband's business to manage the accounting office, a position she would hold for over 20 years. Janet enjoyed bowling, and was a long time league member. She was very skilled at crochet and knitting, and donated countless baby caps to the Geneva General Hospital maternity ward for newborns to wear. She was a member of Zonta International, and an active member of the St. Peter's church choir. Janet is survived by her sons, John G. (Linda) Wright, and Jeffrey C. (Debra) Wright, grandchildren Nicole (Ronald) Eveland, Sara Wright, Sean Wright, Melissa Wright and Jackson Wright. She was predeceased by her husband Jack, and brother, Richard C Dolley. There will be no prior calling hours. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 5 at 2:00 PM at St Peter's church in Geneva, with a celebration of life to follow.
