Obituary of William David DeLamarter

WATERLOO- William "Bill" David DeLamarter, 79, passed away peacefully on Sun. (Nov. 6, 2022), at home. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Sat. (Nov. 12), at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC, 28 Genesee St. Geneva. Military honors will be performed at the end of calling hours. A celebration of life will continue from 5 to 8 p.m. at the VFW Post 6433, 29 W. Elisha St. Waterloo, NY 13165. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the charity of one's choice. Bill was born on March 11, 1943, in Waterloo and was a son of the late James Arthur and Marie Carol (Johnson) DeLamarter. He served his country in the United States Navy from 1961-64, serving on a destroyer, in the blockade of the Cuban Missile Crisis. Bill worked as a machine mechanic at the Seneca Army Depot. He enjoyed boating, working in the garage and traveling with his wife, Wanda. Together, they traveled over 1 million miles. Bill was a life member of the VFW Post 6433 and the Elks Club in Seneca Falls. He is survived by his devoted wife, Wanda (King) DeLamarter of Waterloo; son, James (Heather) DeLamarter of Fla.; son-in-law, Steven Miller of Waterloo; brother, Frederick (Irma) DeLamarter of Ventura, Calif.; grandchildren, Peyton and Carson Miller, Alex DeLamarter; several nieces and nephews. Bill was predeceased by his daughter, Michelle Marie Miller in 2020; sister, Carol Gnau.
