Obituary of Fred L. Ventura

GENEVA- Fred L. Ventura, 89, passed away on Wed. (Jan. 25, 2023), at Clifton Springs Hospital. In honoring his wishes, there will be no prior calling hours. A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm on February 10th, in St. Mary's Cemetery, with military honors. A "Celebration of Life" will be held at the Border City Hose Company on 3000 Fallbrook St in Geneva immediately following the service. Fred was born on Sept. 30, 1933, in Geneva and was the son of the late Fred. N. and Antoinette (DeJohn) Ventura. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp from 1953 to 1955. Fred worked as an HVAC plumber and steam fitter in the Rochester Local 13. He was known as "Grandpa Fred" and was a friend to everyone. Fred loved snowmobiling, racing and dancing. He is survived by his son, John F. (DeAnna) Ventura of Ontario; son-in-law, Paul Krug of Farmington; sister, Marie Antoinette McFarland of GA; grandchildren, Jessica Jones, Kelly (Alex) Sitton, Christopher Ventura, Victoria Ventura and Nicholas Ventura; several nieces and nephews. Fred was predeceased by his wife, Beverly (Steurrys) Ventura and daughter, Teresa Krug.
