Obituary of Sally Jones

CANANDAIGUA-Sally Jones, 75, passed away peacefully on Thursday (Feb. 16, 2023) at FF Thompson. On honoring her wishes there will be no calling hours. Sally was born on October 26, 1947, in London, England and was the daughter of the late Arthur and Marie (Ellis) Burgon. She trained as an RN at London College Hospital, London and worked as a nurse for many years. Sally met her husband, Michael, on holiday in 1966, they knew they would marry 3 days later! She spent 3 years travelling between London and Birmingham to see each other. They married on September 20th 1969, moved to Birmingham & stayed home with babies Claire and Marie-Ann but returned to work at Greenacres Care home in Sutton Coldfield caring for adults with physical disabilities. Sally gave up work to care for her husband after his stroke in 1991, worked to rehab him. She loved Reading, Gardening, Camping, Painting, and Sewing. Sally was an author of three children's books. Her faith in Jesus Christ as her saviour was unshakable and we know she is resting with Him forever. They moved to Scotland for 2.5 years, then moved back to Birmingham. Then moved to USA Sept 2nd 2014. Sally took US Citizenship on December 12th 2019! She was diagnosed with Dementia and Parkinson's in 2019. Then moved to Horizons in March of 2021.Sally was loved by everyone. She is survived by husband Michael Jones; daughters and son in law Claire Simpson and Marie-Ann Scala (Mike); Grandsons Ben Simpson and Michael Scala; Granddaughters Victoria Scala, Isabella Scala and Evie Simpson; brother Christopher Burgon (Carole); niece Joanna Webb; nephews Simon Burgon, Richard Jones (Chrissy), Graham Jones, Paul Jones, Mark Jones ( Steph); great nephews Edward and Jackson; brother in Law Trevor Jones (Sue). A Thanksgiving Service will be on Thursday April 6th by Seneca Lake. Contact family for details.
