GENEVA- Diane L. (Treadwell) Pitifer, 87, passed away peacefully on Sat. (April 1, 2023), at Geneva General Hospital. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Mon. (April 10), at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, in Geneva. Entombment will follow in St. Mary's Mausoleum.

Diane was born on Jan. 10, 1936, in Geneva, NY and was the daughter of the late Willis and Marian (Carr) Treadwell. She was a graduate of De Sales Catholic High School. Diane worked at the Telephone Company, Metropolitan Life Insurance Company and retired from Orthodontic Associates of Geneva. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her loving family. Diane was a devoted member of St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Charles F. Pitifer of Geneva; son, Chas (B.J.) Pitifer of Geneva; daughter, Deborah (Robert) Gringeri of Geneva; sister, Jean Ritter of Geneva; half-brother, Gary (Irene) Nielson of TN; half-sister, Lynn (Woody) Treadwell-Salerno of MN; step-sister, Nancy (Mike) Lally of Fla.; sisters in law, Anna Pitifer of Geneva and Lucille Simpson of Canandaigua; grandchildren, Steven (Susan Panna) Payne, Rebecca (Patrick) Wandtke, Jaclyn (Jelani Stewart) Pitifer, Christopher (Alicia Knapton) Pitifer, Jenna Gringeri, R.J. (Kathryn) Gringeri and Marli (Colin) Cooper; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brother, John Treadwell; sister-in-law Judy Treadwell; brothers-in-law, Robert Ritter, Salvatore Pitifer, and Charles Simpson.
