Anthony F. Chilbert SYRACUSE-Anthony F. Chilbert, 91, passed away peacefully on Saturday (April 8, 2023) at Iroquois Nursing Home, Jamesville, NY. There will be no calling hours, but family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am on Monday (April 17) at St. Frances De Sales Church, 130 Exchange Street, Geneva. A burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Geneva, NY. Contributions in lieu of flowers can be made to any homeless shelter in your area, as Tony was always a strong advocate for the poor. Tony was born on April 5, 1932 in Geneva, NY and was the son of the late Mary C. (Luzzi) and Joseph M. Chilbert. He was a former Grand Knight for the Knights of Columbus in Bath, NY. He grew up loving music and played the accordian and excelled at playing the piano by ear. He also was a champion ping pong player and tennis player in his younger days; and he taught his grandchildren to play the game. He also never missed any of their sporting events over the years. He spent most of his career in retail management but later became a school custodian from where he retired at 76 yrs. old, and which he loved because of being around the kids. He is survived by his wife Eleanor, his children Terry (Vicki), Mary Kay (Matt) Murphy, Tim (Francine) and Dan (Stacey); brothers: Richard (Sharon), Tom, Gennaro (Ellen); sisters: Betty (Nick) Reres, Eleanor Bothwell, Pat (Rocky) Mellini; grandchildren: Michael, Stephen (Rheana), Kevin (Maya), Luke (Rachel), Zachary (Mickey), Colin (Bridgette), Miles (Maria), Elise, Madeline, Jacqueline (David), Danny, Jillian; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Tony is predeceased by his parents and his brothers: Dominic and Joseph; and sister: Catherine "Kay"
