GENEVA- JoEllen "Jody" Scherra, 66, passed away peacefully on Sat. (May 6, 2023), at Geneva General Hospital, with her loving family by her side. In honoring her wishes, there will be no prior calling hours or service. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Jody was born on Oct 16, 1956, in Geneva and was a daughter of the late Anthony and Harriet (Reid) Scalise. Most recently, she worked as a waitress at Uncle Joe's Pizzeria, in Geneva. Jody was known for her kindness, especially toward the elderly and worked at the local nursing homes. Jody enjoyed Bingo, going to the casino, watching game shows, court TV and Law & Order: SVU. Above all, she loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband, John O. Scherra of Geneva; son, Joseph F. (Danielle N. Pickerill) Scherra of Phelps; sister, Noreen VonBergen of Geneva; grandchildren, Madison, Joseph and Ariyana; several nieces and nephews.

Jody was predeceased by her sister, Betty Jean Hall; brother, William Scalise; niece, Heather VonBergen PhD.; brother-in-law, John VonBergen.
