GENEVA- Henry "Hank" J. Augustine, Jr., 93, passed away peacefully on Tues. (May 16, 2023), after a brief illness, at Geneva General Hospital. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Thurs. (May 25), at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC, 28 Genesee St. Geneva. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery, with military honors.

Hank was born on Jan. 28, 1930, in Geneva, NY to Frances (DiSanto) Augustine and Henry Augustine, Sr. He graduated from GHS in 1948 and joined the US Navy, serving his country from 1948 until 1952. Hank became a type setter working at Humphrey Press and various other printing companies until his retirement. He also co-owned and operated the Ovid Bowling Center from 1971 until 1980. Henry was a very skilled carpenter and was an expert at home renovation and repair. He enjoyed donating his time to help others. "Hank" had a real passion for cars, buying too many to count throughout his life. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his sons, Gary (Kathleen) Augustine and James (Susan Farr) Augustine; daughter, Victoria (Paul) Valila; brother, Patrick (Meg) Augustine; grandchildren, Jacqueline Augustine, Nichol (Tina) Valila, Katie Bobka, Michael (Kayla) Valila and Tyler (Matia) Valila; great-grandchildren, Prashanta Augustine, Henry Frances Augustine, Sophie Augustine, Nicholas Valila, Lily and Allison Valila, Dylan and Zachary Bobka; many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Marie, for being his special friend and neighbor in his later life.

Henry was predeceased by his parents; first wife and mother to his children, Virginia Fosmire Augustine; son, Martin; siblings, Barbara Leo and Marie Holbrooks.
