Please share a memory of Jennifer to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
GENEVA- Jennifer Lee (Dodge) Albrecht, 48, passed away unexpectedly on Fri. (May 19, 2023), at home. Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. Fri. (May 26), at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC, 28 Genesee St. Geneva. A funeral service will follow at 5 p.m., in the funeral home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Jennifer was born on June 17, 1974, in Hornell, NY and was a daughter of the late Mark Dodge and Deborah (Maglier) Weller. Jennifer graduated from Hornell High School and worked most of her life as a hair stylist and at various times as a personal caregiver. She was married in October 2001 to the late John Albrecht. Jennifer had the most beautiful soul, kind and accepting of everyone. She was a carefree spirit that craved nothing more than peace, love, and harmony. Her huge smile and kind eyes instantly put you at ease and let you know she was a friend. If she was in your life, chances are she has cared for children, nourished you with a meal, made you look beautiful with her talented hands, kept you laughing, and convinced you that the way she wanted the world to be, was exactly what it should be. She believed that everyone is deserving of abundance and what little she had, she shared without hesitation. Jennifer was known for small acts of selfless generosity like giving a stranger a ride in the rain, to huge acts like saving the life of her mother, to whom she donated most of her own liver – granting her several more years of life. And she did it without a single question of what it meant for her own health. That was our Jenny. Jennifer had a fearless soul that provided her with countless adventures and connections in her short life. She was our wild child sibling that cut her own hair at four years old, that unapologetically rocked her own unique colors and style, that chased the Grateful Dead barefoot across the country. With all the worries her carefree antics brought us, she brought us tenfold in pure joy. She was our favorite. Jennifer was the embodiment of Mother Earth. And what a mother she was. Her children were her life (and likely what saved her life so often.) She showered them with affection, love, and constant affirmation. She longed to raise them free from the constraints of convention and sheltered from the disappointments of the world. Oh, how we wish she had succeeded, and they would not be feeling the loss they feel today. She loved them fiercely. And they adored her. Everyone who knew her adored her. Our Jenny was a loving friend to all, and she will never be forgotten. She is survived by her children, Irie Kaya Albrecht of Saint Helens, OR, Gwendolyn Albrecht of Geneva and Jax Albrecht of Geneva; sisters, Kerry Stephens of Victor, Julie (Chris O'Dell) Dodge of Arkport, NY and Markie (Harry) Gramling, Jr. of Geneva; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Barbara Albrecht and Robert Albrecht of Little Falls, NY; siblings-in-law, Molly Albrecht and Jordan Valdina of Rhinebeck, NY and Kate (Chris) Fidler of Adams, NY; dearest aunts, Kathy (David) Smith of Hornell, NY and Julie (Michael) McLaughlin of Geneva; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family, as well as special cousins who were more like siblings to Jennifer and her children. In addition to her parents, Jennifer was predeceased by her husband, John Albrecht. In lieu of flowers, donations to her children's education fund can be made to Gwen and Jax Albrecht, C/O Julie McLaughlin, 94 West Street, Geneva, NY 14456, or to a charity of your choice.
