GENEVA- Louise C. Smith, 97, passed away peacefully on Sat. (June 10, 2023), at the Geneva Living Center North. Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Mon. (June 19), at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC. A Mass will follow at 12:30 p.m. at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church in Geneva.

Louise was born on Nov. 10, 1925, in Arcadia, NY and was a daughter of the late Theophil and Justina (Schaeken) Coppens. She fell in love with Leonard Smith and upon his return from WWII, were married on September 27, 1945. Louise was one of the charter members of the Our Lady of Mercy Parish in Greece. She moved to Geneva in 1993 and became members of Our Lady of Peace Parish. Louise was a devoted member of a bible study group for over 25 years. She donated her time frequently to the Rochester area "Right to Life", the Geneva Community Lunch Program and the Center of Concern.
She is survived by her children, Karen (Richard) Seeger of Geneva, Ellen (Wayne) Wiesner of Geneva and Gregory Smith of Geneva; grandchildren, Renee (Eric Giguere) Rose, Melanie (Justin) Haers, Daniel (Emily) Wiesner, Nicholas (Erin) Wood, Lenny Wood and Justin Higgins; step-granddaughter, Nikole (Dominic) Pagani; great-grandchildren, Lauren, Leigha, Tori, Kennedy, Emma, Jonathan, Natalie, Dylan, Addison, Nate, Xander, David and Dylan; best friends, Esther Chichester, Barbara Koczent and Patricia Doran; several nieces and nephews.
Louise was predeceased by her husband, Leonard Smith in 2008; siblings, Gus Coppens, Margaret Stevens, Maynard Coppens, Alice Hoomans and Madeline Gallipeau; son-in-law, Richard Seeger.
