ROME, NY- Carmen Raquel Mateo, 54, passed away peacefully on Tues. (July 18, 2023), at Colonial Park Rehab in Rome, NY. Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. Wed. (July 26), at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC, 28 Genesee St. Geneva. A funeral service will follow at 5 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Carmen was born on Jan. 29, 1969, in Geneva and was the daughter of the late Catalino and Carmen A. (Vazquez) Mateo. She was a perpetual caregiver who loved raising a family and spending time with her grandson, Asher. Carmen was a community mother to all she encountered.

She is survived by her sons, Robert Mateo of Candor, NY and Dwayne Falbru of Rochester; brother, Catalino (Tara) Mateo of Rochester; grandchild, Asher Mateo; nieces, Taylor and Ileiahna Mateo; nephew, Colter Mateo; several cousins and friends.
