Roger Chapin GENEVA- Roger Chapin, 79, passed away peacefully on Sun. (Oct. 6, 2013), at home. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 2 p.m. Sun. (Oct. 20), at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC 28 Genesee St. Geneva, Rev. Christian Pilet and Rev. James Gerling officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the Living Hope Baptist Church Remodeling Fund 51 Geneva St. Geneva, NY 14456 or Habitat For Humanity of Ontario County 3040 County Rd. 10 Canandaigua, NY 14424. Roger was born on April 18, 1934 in Wolcott and was a son of the late H. Reed and Jean Elizabeth (Rowlingson) Chapin. He graduated from Abraham Clark High School in NJ. Roger attended the Long Island College of Agriculture and Technology and the State College of Oswego, where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Arts. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. After the Army, Roger taught printing at Auburn High School. In 1958, he married Carolyn Scott and later had two children, Ray and Nancy. Roger started a print shop in his home called, "Wilson Press", which eventually moved to Seneca Falls, where he purchased the "Reveille". He then purchased, owned and operated Vanderbrook Press in Newark. After selling the print shops, Roger went to work for Furman Produce in Savannah and part-time for K-Mar Press in Waterloo. After he purchased K-Mar Press, he moved the business to Savannah and later named it SEECO Services and Ministries. Roger sold SEECO and started ARNAR Country Services in Savannah. Upon retirement, he moved next door to his son Ray in Geneva. In 2006, he married Elaine Brockmyre. He was very active with Habitat for Humanity and enjoyed sailing, tinkering and building in his workshop. Roger will always be known for helping others. He is survived by his wife, Elaine (Brockmyre) Chapin of Geneva; son, Ray (Cindy) Chapin of Geneva; grandchildren, Rebecca and Allison Chapin; brother, Ralph Chapin of Hagerstown, MD; 7 step-children; 21 step-grandchildren; 2 step, great-grandchildren and 1 nephew. Roger was predeceased by his first wife, Carolyn (Scott) Chapin and daughter, Nancy Chapin.
