Charles F. Pitifer Jr. Obituary

GENEVA-Charles F. Pitifer, Jr., 89, passed away peacefully on Wednesday (November 1), at Geneva General Hospital. The family will greet people from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday (November 7), at St. Stephens Church, in Geneva. Entombment will follow in St. Mary's Mausoleum.

Charles was born on June 7, 1934, in Geneva, N.Y. and was the son of the late Charles F. and Bertha (Paul) Pitifer. He was a bricklayer for Local #43 for many years. He served in the US Army during the Korean War, 1953-1955. Charles was a avid bowler and golfer. He was a member at Seneca Lake CC and Geneva CC for several years.



He is survived by his son Charles F. (B.J.) Pitifer of Geneva; daughter Deborah (Robert) Gringeri of Geneva; sister Lucille Simpson of Canandaigua; sisters-in-law Anne Pitifer of Geneva and Jean Ritter of Geneva; grandchildren, Steven (Susan Panna) Payne, Rebecca Wandtke, Jaclyn (Jelani Stewart) Pitifer, Christopher Pitifer, Jenna Gringeri, R.J. (Katie) Gringeri and Marli (Colin) Cooper; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; half brother-in-law Gary (Irene) Nielson of TN; half sister-in-law Lynn (Woody) Treadwell-Salerno of MN and step sister-in-law Nancy (Mike) Lally of FL.



Charlie was predeceased by his wife of 67 yrs. Diane (Treadwell) Pitifer (April 1, 2023); brother Salvatore Pitifer; brothers-in-law Charles Simpson, Robert Ritter, John (Judy) Treadwell.
