Joe was a good friend in law school and beyond. I'll never forget his heart and warmth. He was always so eager to help others and give of himself. He had such a passion for learning and growing - it was hard not to want to get caught up in whatever he was caught up in. Joe loved books, artifacts and collecting in general. I still have some very old books that Joe had gifted me - ones he saved from a library that was closing in town. In what often feels like a broken, divided world that we live in, we would do well having more Joe Mairi's walking amongst us. Rest in Peace, my friend.
