GENEVA- James Robert Buzalko, 77, passed away unexpectedly Monday, November 25, 2024, at Geneva General Hospital with his family at his side. Family and friends may call from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm Tuesday, December 3, at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC, 28 Genesee Street, Geneva. A prayer service will follow at 3:30 pm at the funeral home. Buzz was born in Pottsville, PA and was the son of the late John Joseph and Winifred (Petch) Buzalko. After graduating from high school, Buzz was drafted into the US Army for 3 yrs where he served as a Nuclear Weapons Maintenance Specialist in Albuquerque New Mexico before being transferred to the Seneca Army Depot which brought him to the Geneva area to meet his wife of 56 years, Alice (Oakley) Buzalko. He went on to work for the US Postal Office for 33 years. He was known by his friends and coworkers at the post office as Buzz. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, playing pool and darts and of course the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was affectionately known as Pop Pop to his grandchildren and great grandchildren and took great pride in all of them. Buzz is survived by his wife Alice M. Buzalko of Geneva; children Christopher (Melinda) Buzalko of South Carolina, Tanya M. (Joseph) Buzalko-Richardson of Geneva, Toby (Amber) Ralston of Geneva; brothers Brian (Mary) Buzalko of PA, Stephen (Annie) Buzalko of PA; grandchildren Bryon K. Russ, Jr., Joseph Richardson, Isiah Richardson, Aliscia Richardson, Taylor Ralston and Morgan Ralston; great grandchildren Kairoh K. Russ and Bryon K. Russ III. He is predeceased by his son Robert James "RJ" Buzalko and brother John J. Buzalko.
