William Ortiz Reyes

GENEVA-William "Willie Mayes" Ortiz Reyes, 88, passed away on Sat. (Jan. 11, 2025) at FF Thompson Hospital. Friends may call from 12 noon to I pm at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC., Geneva, NY. A prayer service will follow at 1 pm at the funeral home. Burial at St. Mary's Cemetery.

Willie Mayes was born June 22, 1936 in Puerto Rico and was a son of the late Juan and Genovieve Ortiz Reyes. He retired from the Finger Lakes Racetrack after many years. Willie Mayes loved baseball; he played until he couldn't play anymore. He was a simple, loving man.

He survived by his daughters Genovieve Leone and Marilyn Reyes-Martinez; sons Eddie Reyes and Miguel (Chris) Reyes; 23 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; nieces and nephews.

William is predeceased by his brother Jose Reyes; infant sister; Aunt Josephine Ortiz.
