LYONS- Ian Alon Reid-Yancey, 24 yrs. old, passed away suddenly Sat. (March 1, 2014) at Rochester General Hospital with his family by his side. Friends may call from 11 am to 1 pm at the Faith, Healing and Deliverance Church of God by Faith 2987 Pre-Emption St. Geneva. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the Church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Ian was born in Geneva, NY and is the son of Darlene & Tina Reid of Lyons, Kathleen Taylor of Geneva, David & Tonia Paul of North Rose and Benjamin Yancey of NC. He was a former member of Finger Lakes Impact League, a current member of Interlakes Commander Football League and a founding member of "thahavenots", performing music group. Ian was employed at Empire Merchants in Lyons, NY. In addition to his parents, Ian is survived his wife Debra (Heath) Reid-Yancey of Lyons, NY; children Moneia Lyric and Zyair Inez Reid-Yancey of Lyons, NY; grandparents Priscilla Yancey of Geneva, Thomas and Nancy Gill of TN; siblings Charlene Reid of Geneva, Rachael Reid, Hailey Rouland, Camron VanHouter, Donovan Backus all of Lyons, NY, Tanisha, Yolanda &Benjamin Yancey, Jr. of NC, Codi Paul of FL, Ykeem Overstreet of Rochester, NY, Ralph Melton, Jr. of Newark, NY, Patrick Girup of Seneca Falls, NY, and Johnny Eaves of Canandaigua, NY; niece and nephews Giona, Aijeleth and Micah all of Lyons; aunts and uncles Susan Albro of Ohio, L. Tracy Williams, Sr. of Rochester, Lynn VanHouter of Wolcott, Vincent Johnson Of Lyons, William & Marie Parmer of Geneva, Kim, Elizabeth & Tiffany Yancey of Geneva and Sandra Wilcox of Canandaigua; host of dear cousins, many other loving family, friends and fans. Ian was predeceased by his grandparents, Delois and Ferman Barrett; aunt and uncle, Rick and Vicky James. He was a beautiful soul, so loving, giving, caring, creative and artistic. He was an avid sports and video game player. Ian was a family man who was protective of his family. He took pride in his appearance and always had a million dollar smile to cheer you up. His favorite animal was the wolf but, he loved all animals, especially dogs. He will be sadly missed by all.
