GENEVA- Mary 'Rita' Abson-Mahoney, 93, passed away peacefully on Fri. (March 7, 2014), at the Huntington Living Center in Waterloo. In honoring her wishes, there will be no prior calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Thurs. (March 13), at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Geneva. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery.

Rita was born on Aug. 11, 1920, in Toronto, Canada and was a daughter of the late Edward and Kathleen (Mathews) Park. She worked for McCurdy's and after many years, retired from Key's Drugs. Rita was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary in Geneva, the American Legion Auxiliary in Geneva and Phelps, and volunteered for the Ontario-Yates Hospice and the American Red Cross blood drives. She was a member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Geneva.
She is survived by her cousins in Toronto, Canada and her good friend, Shirley Guilfoose of Geneva.
Rita was predeceased by her husband, Francis; brother, Larry and sister, Kathleen.
