Teresa I. Caravita GENEVA- Teresa I. Caravita, 104, passed away on Wed. (Sept. 3, 2014), at Strong Memorial Hospital. Friends may call from 1 to 5 p.m. Sun. (Sept. 7), at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC 28 Genesee St. Geneva. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Mon. (Sept. 8), in St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Geneva. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Contributions may be directed to the Geneva Women's Club 336 Main St. Geneva, NY 14456, the Palliative Care Program Office of Advancement P.O. Box 278996 Rochester, NY 14627, or Martha Ministry 130 Exchange St. Geneva, NY 14456. Teresa was born on May 23, 1910, in Geneva and was a daughter of the late August and Mary (Caito) Cook. She was one of nine children and the sole survivor. Teresa worked as a waitress at Hotel Seneca and then the American Legion. She was a life-long member of the Geneva Women's Club, Geneva Senior Citizens, the Red Hat Society of Geneva, the Hospital Auxiliary and St. Stephen's Catholic Church. Teresa enjoyed many hobbies including bowling, shuffleboard, traveling, playing cards, drinking manhattans and was the first to start knitting baby caps. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Judith Caravita of Geneva, grandchildren, Carin Caravita Cunningham of Geneva, Frank Caravita of Geneva, Mari Caravita of Geneva and Michele (Jeff) Littlefield of RI; great-grandchildren, Catherine, Sean and Maggie Cunningham, Frankie and Eden Caravita; many nieces and nephews. Teresa was predeceased by her husband, Francis T. Caravita; son, Francis A. Caravita; eight brothers and sisters, several nephews.
