MARYLAND/GENEVA-Julia Annamaria Annony passed away at aged 95 on September 22, 2014. Friends may call from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Sat. (Sept. 27) at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC, 28 Genesee Street. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Sat. following the visitation at St. Francis de Sales Church. Entombment will follow at St. Mary's Mausoleum. She was born in Geneva, N.Y. on June, 9, 1919 to Mr. and Mrs. Sabatino and Maria Anna (Massimiami) Annony and a loving family of 6 children. She was predeceased by brothers, Anthony J. Annony, Peter J. Annony, and sisters, Frances Annony, Mrs. Arthur (Laura) DelPapa, and Mrs. Maurice (Mayme) Chacchia. She was a graduate of St. Francis Grammar School, DeSales High School and Ontario Business School. During WW II, she was first employed at the Seneca Ordinance Depot as a temporary secretary. When the war ended, she enjoyed her career working for the government, beginning with employment at the Seneca Ordinance Depot in Romulus, NY, where 25 % of ammunition was supplied to the European Theatre. Julia worked at multiple locations including Sampson Naval Base, Veteran's Administration Hospital in Bainbridge, Maryland, Veteran's Administration in Canandaigua, N.Y. , the Air Force Hospital at Sampson and finally at Walter Reed Hospital, Washington D.C., where her last position was that of Secretary to Chief of Gastroenterology. This was her most satisfying and productive position, where she participated in a seminar in Dallas, Texas and assisted in the typing of a manuscript for a book on the GI system. One day after retiring from the government, after 34 years, she became employed by Doctor P. Calihanna of Silver Spring, Maryland. After 32 years Dr. Calahanna retired, forcing Julia to retire at the age of 88. Not long after, she fell at home causing a hip fracture. She was living a rather secluded life until she passed away at age 95 in a mediocre health status. She enjoyed her career and the people she worked with, resulting in many longtime friends. Julia is survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
