GENEVA- Katherine T. Akens, 91, passed away peacefully on Mon. (Nov. 3, 2014) at home surrounded by her family. Friends may attend a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Wed. (Nov. 5) at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral home LLC, 28 Genesee Street, Geneva. Burial will follow in the Sodus Rural Cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ontario County Humane Society, County Rd. 48 Canandaigua, NY 14424, in her memory.
Katherine was born Nov. 2, 1923 in Williamson, NY and was the daughter of the late Louise (Shafer) and Abram Tack. She was employed for many years as a receptionist for Dr. Anthony Gringeri, DDS.
Katherine is survived by her children Kenneth (Kay) Akens, William Akens, Jr., Norma Leone,
Elaine Akens, Irene Akens and Richard Akens; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; one sister Evelyn DeBadts.
She is predeceased by her husband William Akens, Sr.; 3 sisters Pauline Grace, Elizabeth Houghtaling, and Lavina Cockrell; brother Thomas Tack; and one grandchild, Paul Leone. Katherine will be missed by all.
