Bernard 'Bernie' S. Passalacqua BORDER CITY- Bernard 'Bernie' S. Passalacqua, 92, passed away on Wed. (Jan. 21, 2015), at Geneva General Hospital. In honoring his request, there will be no prior calling hours. A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family in Glenwood Cemetery. Bernie worked at the Seneca Army Depot for 30 years while also running his own service station and junkyard. After retiring in 1972, he ran "The Tavern" on Exchange St. Geneva, for several years. Bernie was a member of the Sons of Italy and the Border City Fire Dept., where he was recently honored as a 70 year member. He played baseball in high school and was a lifelong baseball fan of the New York Yankees. He is survived by his children, Robert Passalacqua of Manchester, NH, Helen (Allen) Paschke of Wildwood, MO and Brian Passalacqua of Clifton Springs; grandchildren, Matthew and Lauren Passalacqua, Maria, Paul and Anthony Paschke and Courtney Passalacqua; special friend, Celia Bonetti of Geneva.
