Richard E. Egbert GENEVA- Richard E. Egbert, 87, passed away on Tues. (Feb. 24, 2015), at Geneva General Hospital. Friends may call from 12 to 2 p.m. Sat. (Feb. 28), at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC 28 Genesee St. Geneva. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Brookside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to Mercy Flight Central 2420 Brickyard Road Canandaigua, NY 14424. Richard was born on Aug. 29, 1927 in Geneva, and was a son of the late William and Anna (Lahr) Egbert. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Richard worked in explosives for 30 years at the Seneca Army Depot. He enjoyed fishing and most of all, loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Richard was a devoted member of Our Lady of Peace Parish. He is survived by his daughter, Donna Gibbs of Geneva; son, Stephen Egbert of Rochester; grandchildren, Brandi (Jim) Smith, Amy (Tom) Pequignot and Jessica (Christian) Krogh; great-grandchildren, Gianna and Zoey Smith, Connor Krogh and Bailey Pequignot; special nephew, Ron Passalacqua of Geneva; great-nephew, Josh Passalacqua of Geneva; sister-in-law, Betty Egbert of Geneva; several nieces and nephews. Richard was predeceased by his wife, Mary (Marchenese) Egbert in 2012; brothers, William Egbert, Jr. and Eugene Egbert; sisters, Francis Dunn and Helen DeWind.
