SOUTH GLENS FALLS, NY- Jabra C. Khoury, 92, lifelong resident of South Glens Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on Thursday (April 9, 2015), at the home of his sister, Emily Morwood of Geneva. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday (April 14), at St. Michael's Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church 98 Genesee St. Geneva, NY. An Orthodox funeral will follow at 11 a.m. in the Church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in St. George Cemetery, South Glens Falls, NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to St. Michael's Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church 98 Genesee St. Geneva, NY 14456. Jabra was born on Dec. 10, 1922, in South Glens Falls, NY and was a son of the late Charles and Rose (Monsour) Khoury. He graduated from South Glens Falls High School in 1942. Jabra attended Siena College and barbering school. He entered the United States Army in 1943 and served as a platoon clerk during WWII in the European Theater- England, France, Holland and Germany. Jabra retired from the Glens Falls Insurance Company after many years. He was a member of the Operetta Club in Glens Falls and a devoted member of St. Michael's Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church in Geneva. Jabra enjoyed visiting the family camp at Sherman Lake, loved his faith, but above all, he cherished the time he spent with his family. He served as Godfather to many. He is survived by his sisters, Emily Morwood of Geneva and Helen Khoury of Saratoga Springs, NY; several nieces and nephews including, Linda (David) Patrick; Kathryn (John) Sianan, George (Ann) Morwood, Louise Ferris, Arthur DelSignore, Robert Jacobs and Nicholas Jacobs, Rhett (Erica) Miller, Ross (Kara) Miller and Christi (Dr. Mark) Dammert; nieces and nephews of the heart, Cindy and Alfred Ragazzo, Dorothy Gioia and Jay Callen, Marilyn and Thomas Meyers, Michael and Nuala Gioia, Celeste and Stephen Potenzano, Vivian and Herman Tudela; grandnephews, Michael Sianan, Marcus Sianan, Gregory (Veronica Quiroga) Patrick and David (Rebecca) Patrick; great-grandnieces and nephews, Arie Patrick, Max and Soleil Miller, Caleb, Ella and Presley Miller, Danny George and Celeste Dammert. In addition to his parents, Jabra was predeceased by his sisters and brothers, Mary Archembault, John Khoury, Martha Abraham, Anna Jacobs, Michael Khoury, Abraham Khoury, Zina Khoury, George Khoury, Sarah DelSignore and Nicholas Khoury.
