WATERLOO- Anthony "Papa" "Jocko" Vicente, 84, passed away peacefully on Sun. (April 26, 2015), at home, with his loving family by his side. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Fri. (May 1), at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC 28 Genesee St. Geneva. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Sat. (may 2), in St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church in Geneva. Anthony was born on Jan. 20, 1931 in Seville, Spain and was a son of the late Manuel and Rosario (Cembrano) Vicente. He attended college in Spain and served in the Spanish Air Force. Anthony set sail for the United States when he was 31 years old and ultimately found his way to Geneva, where he married the love of his life, Vivian Morales. He worked as a molder for ITT Goulds Pumps in Seneca Falls. Anthony was an avid soccer player. He played soccer in Spain and was a member of the Goulds soccer team in the "Water-Falls" Soccer League. Anthony enjoyed spending time in his workshop and was well known for his "tinkering". He adored his grandchildren and loved spending time with his family. Anthony was known as "Papa" to everyone. He was a member of St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church in Geneva. He is survived by his wife, Vivian (Morales) Vicente of Waterloo; daughters, Vivian (Dan) Kane of Rochester and Rachel (Craig) Cure of Waterloo; brother, Joseph (Patricia) Vicente of Mich.; sisters, Rosario "Chari" Torres of Fla. and Carmen Albert of NC; grandchildren, Ethan, Elaina "Ellie" and Emma Olson of Rochester and Justin, Jazmen and Jaeden "Bubba" Cure of Waterloo; great-grandson, Jonah Kiehle and special companion, Mimi the dog. Anthony was predeceased by his son, Kenneth A. "Kenny" Vicente in 2013 and brother, Manuel Vicente.
