Obituary of Rose Marie DeRosa

Rose Marie (Stramandinoli) DeRosa GENEVA- Rose Marie (Stramandinoli) DeRosa, 91, passed away peacefully at home on (Oct. 19, 2012), with her loving family by her side. In honoring her wishes, there will be no prior calling hours. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wed. (Oct. 24), at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC 28 Genesee St. Geneva. Burial will be held in Glenwood Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association 435 E. Henrietta Rd. Rochester, NY 14620. Rose was born on Sept. 27, 1921, in Geneva and was a daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Malcuria) Stramandinoli. She graduated from De Sales High School. Rose was a homemaker who provided her family with a comfortable home. She provided care for her mother and took care of veterans in her home. Rose was a religious woman and even made a pilgrimage to Portugal to pray to 'Our Lady of Fatima'. She had a heart of gold and proved to be a very generous and giving person. Rose was a member of St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church in Geneva. She will be missed by her loving family, especially her daughter, Dawn. She is survived by her sons, Paul (Kathy) DeRosa of Geneva and Robert (Deborah) DeRosa of Geneva; daughters, Judy (Don) DiCampli of Geneva, Beverly (Christopher) DeRosa of Geneva, Sharon DeRosa of Burbank, Calif. and Dawn DeRosa of Geneva; brother, Saverio 'Sam' (Marlene) Stramandinoli of Geneva; sister, Florence Ruff of Colo.; 5 grandchildren, Kevin, Michael, Anthony, Danielle and Allen DeRosa; special niece, Lisa Hart and several other nieces and nephews; special companion, Shelly Marquart and caregiver, Marianne Allen. Rose was predeceased by her husband, Frank 'Pooch' DeRosa; brother, Francisco 'Frank' Stramandinoli and sister, Angelina 'Angie' Mettlach. .
