Henretta (Wells) Chatman Henretta (Wells) Chatman, passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior at age 85 on Sunday, June 7, 2015 at Saint Ann's Nursing Home in Rochester. Henretta Chatman was born August 3, 1929 in McComb, Mississippi. She was the daughter of late John Martin and Ray Wells. She attended Mt. Olive Baptist Church in which she was a member of the Usher Board. She was also a member of the Eastern Star. Henretta worked at Williard Psychiatric Center until she retired in 1991. She also worked at the Geneva Central schools in the cafeteria as well as in the domestic field until she could no longer work. She enjoyed playing bingo with her many friends and visiting the race track. Henretta was predeceased by her parents, her husband Homer Chatman, her son Otis Johns, and her daughter Essie McKoy. She is survived by her 2 daughters, Juanita Mallory from Geneva and Mae Frances (Cleveland) Moore Jr. from Rochester, NY and a special granddaughter, Tashanda Johns which she raised from birth as her own daughter, son-in-law James McKoy, three brothers Jake Wells, John Martin and Adam Martin from out of state, the O'Hannah family, who was very close to Henretta for most of their lives. Not to mention, two special friends, Sheryl Reid and Mary Giles, 15 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren along with many friends. To honor her wishes, there will be a memorial service from 2PM-4PM on Saturday June 13th at 18 Austin Place, Geneva, NY for those that would like to pay their respects. After that, we will celebrate her life with light refreshments and drinks.
